Why is it needed?

Electric Vehicles Multiplied the Testing Load.

Hundreds of electronic parts work in a vehicle. None of them may disturb the radio, the GPS or another part, and at the same time they must not be affected by phone and transmitter signals.

With high-voltage batteries and power electronics, electric vehicles have made these tests even more essential. Tests must be repeated for every new part version.

With your own test chamber you run pre-tests during development and go to the certification lab with a product whose problems are already solved.

Component Testing

Emission and immunity testing of control units, displays and sensors.

Electric Vehicles

Chargers, inverters and battery systems.

Full-Vehicle Testing

Testing of the complete vehicle in a large anechoic chamber.

Pre-Testing

Quick checks and troubleshooting before certification.

Rooms Used in Automotive

SAC-10 Test Chamber

Semi-anechoic chamber with a 10 m test distance for large equipment and vehicles.

Standards

Which Standards Do We Build To?

The room is designed to the standard your product or facility must meet and is tested against that standard at handover.

  • Your testing and usage needs are defined during the site survey
  • A test report is provided at handover
  • Annual maintenance and re-testing are available
  • CISPR 25

Measuring interference emitted by electronic parts inside the vehicle; protects the vehicle's receivers.

  • CISPR 12

Measuring the interference the complete vehicle emits outward.

  • ISO 11452-2

Testing the immunity of vehicle parts to strong outside signals in a shielded room.

  • ISO 11451

Electromagnetic immunity testing of the complete vehicle.

Can the same chamber be used for component and full-vehicle testing?

Usually not. A compact CISPR 25 chamber is enough for component tests; full-vehicle tests require a much larger chamber with a vehicle turntable.

What does building a test chamber in-house gain you?

Without waiting in an external lab's queue, you can test as often as you like during product development. The chance of passing certification on the first attempt increases.

Do you also supply the test equipment?

We design the chamber to be compatible with your test equipment; antennas, test table and cable penetrations are planned around your equipment list.

How is the chamber validated at handover?

The chamber is measured for signal blocking and internal environment conditions; the results are delivered in a report.
