Why is it needed?

There's No Second Chance in the Air.

A device on an aircraft disturbing another system or being affected by outside signals is unacceptable. That's why avionics go through the strictest electromagnetic tests in certification.

In UAV and satellite projects, antenna performance determines success. Antenna measurements are made in anechoic chambers where reflections are fully absorbed.

We design test chambers and antenna measurement chambers around your product and test plan, and deliver them measured after installation.

Solutions

Rooms Used in Aerospace

MIL-STD-461 Chamber

Shielded, absorber-lined chamber for emission and immunity testing of military equipment.

Standards

Which Standards Do We Build To?

The room is designed to the standard your product or facility must meet and is tested against that standard at handover.

  • Your testing and usage needs are defined during the site survey
  • A test report is provided at handover
  • Annual maintenance and re-testing are available
  • RTCA DO-160

Defines environmental and electromagnetic tests for equipment used on aircraft.

  • MIL-STD-461G

The US Department of Defense standard for electromagnetic emission and immunity testing of military equipment.

Are separate chambers needed for DO-160 and MIL-STD-461?

Often the same chamber can be designed for both standards. The decision depends on the size of the devices to be tested and the frequency range.

What is the difference between an antenna measurement chamber and an EMC test chamber?

An EMC chamber tests whether a device emits interference and how immune it is. In an antenna measurement chamber all surfaces are covered with absorbers and reflections are reduced to almost nothing.

What frequency range can it work in?

Absorber material and chamber size are chosen according to the lowest and highest frequency you want to measure. We review your test plan together during the survey.

Can the chamber be enlarged?

Thanks to the modular construction, size and equipment can be increased later.
